Sunday Update

Hope all is well. We are waiting for team members to come down -- my first chance to actually touch the "real computer" in the lobby of the hotel. There a gobs of people staying at the hotel and there are normally lines formed to get to the email. Most team members are now to the point they can walk and feel pretty good. A few are still sick. I still have a nagging cough, especially when I first go to bed and then first thing in the morning. Most of the other groups are from Eastern Europe and they smoke like chimneys, so everything smells smokey.

Will head out to Jerusalem today after church. We have our work project on Monday and Tuesday and then we are "free" on Wednesday before we head to the airport in the evening.

We are scheduled to be back in Atlanta early on Thursday and back in Charlotte by late morning/early afternoon. The groups have done well together. Can't say we are "one group" yet, but doing well. I believe we are headed in the right direction.

Tuesday

We are up and getting ready to leave for Bethlehem. We will go through the Jordan Valley and to Jericho then over to Jerusalem to see the mount of olives and gethsemane.

We have several who have caught colds. We have medicines with us and they seem to do the trick.

The paint job looks guite nice. We will go to the church and have a prayer prior to going to Bethlehem.

Saturday is about finished. We will have a team meeting tonight, then it is off to bed with me. We returned today from Nazareth and Cana. Before the trip we painted and sanded parts of the church. It is looking better.

We have had good weather and also we have had good participation. No sickness or injuries.

Tomorrow we will head to the Sea of Galilee area and then to Gesh (where Chacour and family were refugees).

On Monday we will have our work with the children and finish the church project. We will head to Bethlehem on the 24th.

Hope all is well! Mike

Saturday

It is Saturday morning here. We got to bed very late having just met with Bishop Chacour until after 11 PM. It was quite a journey.

We worked on the church painting project on Friday morning, there was a lunch mixup (in our favor) and we got two lunches, went to a project of the mission and then had a cookout. We were supposed to meet with the Embassador, but he did not show.

Today we will work on the project some more and then head out in the afternoon to see some of the holy sites. The team seems to be blending well. There has been no illness or injury. I am pleased!

Hi, Mickey! Glad to see your text saying you and the team arrived safely. Text me again on Saturday. I will be busy the whole school day on account of staff dev and 3 classes. I may not be able to hear the texting sound if ou send one on Friday.
-Tell me our time difference.

-We had a drizzle today in the afternoon. It was nice considering it got to 68 outside.
-Grading began yesterday. The shed is halfway done. It is frustrating how things go so slow. Julie better speed up this project.
-Dink bit me this PM after I took him outside. His paws were wet and needed to be dried off, but he didn't think so! I ignored him a good 30 minutes. He had chicken and a bone tonight.

-Tell me what the new deal is with AT&T. I didn't listen well the last time you mentioned you had changed our calling plan here at the house.
-I wrote Mama this AM; 'will check on her this PM.

Luv U and miss U! ---Yhell

Welcome to the Palestine Blog

This Blogspot has been established for people to keep up with the ministries taking place on the WNCC Palestine Team, March 18-April 2 2009. Please note that we will be "texting" messages to someone to place into this blog for us. Feel free to respond, but we will have limited abilities to see the blog while in Palestine.

Please pray for us while we minister in Palestine.
